Welcome to the 2025-26 membership year! Your Department membership team invites you to join the fun in celebrating and growing our organization. Our Mission Possible is for each and every Unit in the Department of Michigan to achieve goal membership by July 4, 2026. Our NOT very ”secret” agents (area membership chairs) will be working closely with District Presidents and District Membership Chairpersons to accomplish our definitely NOT secret mission.
Join the Department of Michigan Membership Facebook page (ALA MI Membership) and the National Membership Facebook page (American Legion Auxiliary National Membership Group). Please refer to the Department’s website @ michalaux.org, and the membership pages on the national website @ alaforveterans.org for materials.
In addition to National’s recruit/rejoin 10 membership challenge, this year a new challenge has been organized, the Family 3 Award. Each member who recruits three new Legion members, three new Auxiliary members, and three new Sons’ members will receive a gift selected by the National President.
Please review the current program guide for a complete list of Department awards. This year, we will offer four membership incentives with the first drawing at the Fall Conference.
No Goose Eggs-Two Units who have paid membership greater than 0% of goal per the ALAMIS report (09/15/2025). In other words, if you have a membership greater than ZERO, your Unit will be added to the drawing. Award: $50.00 for membership promotion. Drawing will occur at Fall Conference.
We Love Our Veterans-Two Units who have paid membership at 75% or greater of goal per the ALAMIS report (11/11/2025). Award: $50.00 for membership promotion. Drawing will be mid-November via Facebook live.
We Love Ribbons from National-Two Units who have paid membership at 100% or greater of goal per the ALAMIS report (01/31/2026). Award: $50.00 for membership promotion. Drawing will occur at the Winter Meeting.
No Secrets Here-First Area (Eastern, lower Northern, Western, Southern and UPAA) to reach 100 % of goal. The area chair will have $100 donated on their behalf to the Legion Family program/project of choice.
Keep an eagle eye on the mission and get ready to celebrate! Operation 250 Candles is a mission possible. Remember that membership is everyone’s responsibility.
