A Season of Renewal and Service

Dawn Gramza Department President 2025-2026

As winter gives way to the fresh promise of spring, I am reminded of the resilience and dedication that define our Michigan American Legion Auxiliary family. March is a time of renewal, and with it comes new opportunities to serve our veterans, their families, and our communities.

We also recognize Women’s History Month, honoring the women who paved the way for our organization and those who continue to lead with compassion, courage, and dedication. The Auxiliary was founded by women determined to serve, and today, we carry that legacy forward through volunteerism, leadership, and advocacy. I hope we all remember the female veterans who are dual members, thank them for joining and supporting the ALA, and continue to look in your posts and welcome female legion members to join.

As you take part in activities this month, I encourage every unit and member to wear auxiliary gear with pride, promote membership, and share your “why”. Whether it is through a community event, a social media post, a membership drive, or a conversation, your voice matters and makes a difference.

As we move forward, let us continue to uplift one another with kindness and gratitude. Thank you for your unwavering commitment and for carrying the spirit of service into all that you do. Together, we honor our veterans and help build stronger communities across Michigan.
