Chaplains Corner – March 2026

Dawn Gilbert, Chaplain

As we welcome the month of March, we enter a season of renewal and reflection. The lingering quiet of winter begins to give way to signs of growth, reminding us of the importance of nurturing our mission, our members, and the legacy of service we uphold throughout the year. I want to thank all of you who joined us for our Winter Meeting and hope you found the presentations helpful.

This is an important time, administratively, for all of us. Unit reports are due to the Districts by March 31st. These reports are more than a formality; they ensure that the work we do for our veterans and our communities is recognized at the national level. In preparation for the Chaplains section, please gather the number of services you held for veterans and community members, the amount of time spent preparing and conducting them, and the cost of any food donations. Your efforts matter, and your reports help honor the heart-centered work happening across each community.

Spring is also the time to begin preparing for our annual memorial ceremonies. These solemn events give us the opportunity to remember the members we have lost this past year, members who gave of themselves in service, commitment, and love of country.

As you begin planning, please gather the names of departed members, coordinate with your Unit President, review ceremonial guidelines and scripts, and consider music, readings, or reflections that best honor their memory. Memorial services are a cherished Auxiliary tradition. They remind us that while our members may no longer be with us, their impact continues to live on in our mission, our Units, and in our hearts.

March invites us to pause and reflect: Where can we offer more compassion? Where can we extend more encouragement? How can we lift up a fellow member who may be struggling? Let us continue to serve with kindness, faith, and unity, supporting one another as we strengthen our organization and honor the legacy entrusted to us.

Wishing each of you peace and purpose as we move through this season of renewal. In service, faith, and remembrance.
