History – Historian March 2026

Darlene Jones, Historian

Auxiliary members, it’s that time of year. I hope you are all working on your written history and scrapbooks. Please follow the guides. If you have questions, please email, message me on Facebook, or call me. I am willing to help.

The Michigan Department Historian is responsible for writing the history for this year. But I need your help. To keep it accurate, please send me a brief note of what your units and districts are doing. Let me know if you’re celebrating the Nations 250th Birthday. Send Pictures, including the names of the people. Also, please remember to send all pictures as attachments, not embedded in a document. This will allow me to forward the information to the National Historian.

I am asking the unit members to send me a brief statement about their Why. Why did you join? What is your favorite memory, and what is your favorite chairmanship? It doesn’t have to be a long letter, just a brief note.

Remember, “Our future can only be judged by our past. Be mindful that the lamp of recorded experience may do much in guiding the footsteps of those who follow.”

In closing, I am hoping your units and Districts will submit lots of books, written history, and scrapbooks. Please don’t forget to include your Juniors, who work very hard in promoting our programs.
