Christine Merlington, Chairman
By now, most of you will have turned in your poppy posters and creations to your District Chairperson. We are looking forward to judging lots of poppy items.
As we approach National Poppy Days in May, beginning on Friday the 22nd, remember you can visit ALAForVeterans.org to download templates for this event. These templates include poppy can wraps and posters to display where you are accepting donations. You can print poppy bookmarks on cardstock and hand them out to the people donating. And when you are finished with your event, remember that there are thank-you certificates and Poppy Day Proclamations you can give to the businesses that allow you to use their locations.
Remember, there is still time to order from the Auxiliary Department of Michigan at www.michalaux.org. Just go to the website, click on forms, scroll down quite a ways, and you will find the order form to print and submit with your check to Department.
Don’t forget to send me your photos so we can keep submitting them to the National Poppy Facebook site. Let us show everyone what Michigan can do. There have been some wonderful photos from Michigan this year. You are doing awesome.
Always remember what the poppies stand for and why we do this every year. Keep those memories in your heart and continue to honor them.
